The Writers Museum

The Writers Museum

Description:

The Writers' Museum holds an outstanding collection of personal objects, published works and manuscripts relating to one of Scotland's best-loved poets.

In partnership with other Burns collections, this is a Recognised Collection of National Significance. Visitors to the Writers' Museum can come 'face to face' with Burns through our collection of handsome portraits. We also hold one of only three casts made of Burns' skull, produced in 1834 when his wife's body was laid to rest beside him.

The Robert Burns collection opens a window onto both his unique poetic gift and the details of his daily life.
