The 18th-century Broughton House was home and studio to the artist E. A. Hornel (one of the 'Glasgow Boys') from 1901 until his death in 1933. The property houses Hornel's collections ranging from his art, various household artefacts, travel mementoes, a local and national library together with one of the world's largest collections of Burns material.
