Framed poem 'Birthplace of Robert Burns' by Robert G. Ingersoll

Introduction:
Robert Burns, the Scottish Poet, was born in Alloway, Ayrshire on 25th. January 1759 in a small thatched cottage which was built by his father William Burnes a market gardener at the time. Robert who became a farmer left a legacy of songs, poems and letters, and died at the early age of 37.

This framed poem is in the facsimile handwriting of the famed American orator, Robert G. Ingersoll (1833-1899) who was inspired to write these verses after a visit to the Birthplace Cottage of Robert Burns on 19 August 1878.
