Introduction:
This advertises one of the oldest public houses of Dumfries, the Hole I' The Wa' inn, situated in the Mid Row, a Medieval lane which runs parallel to the High Street. The inn is now accessed via a close from the High Street, hence its unusual name.

This publication dates form 1908 and at this time the Hole I' The Wa' displayed the Thomson collection of Burns Relics which included many important documents and artefacts associated with the poet. Some can now be seen in Burns House, Dumfries.
